The DS-P7001-08 provides 8 PON ports (SFP slots), each supporting a 1:128 split ratio, accommodating up to 1024 ONTs across the device. Each port is independent, so the eight legs can serve separate buildings, floors, or distribution zones simultaneously — or be combined via passive splitters to maximise reach and density within a single zone. GPON data rates are 2.5 Gbps downstream and 1.25 Gbps upstream per port at TX 1490 nm / RX 1310 nm on 9/125 µm single-mode fibre, with SC/UPC connectors and Class C+ optical power, at up to 20 km transmission distance.

GPON SFP modules sold separately. All eight PON ports are SFP slots. Class C+ OLT SFP modules must be sourced separately. Confirm optical budget, split ratio, and reach requirements before purchasing.

Dual 10G SFP+ Uplinks — Double the -04

Uplink interfaces are 2× 10 Gbps SFP+ ports, 1× 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 uplink, 1× RJ45 MGMT port, 1× RJ45 Console port, and 1× Alarm port. The step from one 10G SFP+ (on the -04) to two is meaningful at this ONT density: with up to 1024 subscribers, the dual 10G SFP+ ports allow link aggregation or active/standby uplink redundancy to the aggregation layer, protecting against a single uplink failure.

Hot-Swappable Redundant Power Supplies

The DS-P7001-08 includes dual redundant hot-swapping AC+DC power supplies, supporting AC input (100–240V, 50/60Hz) and DC input, with a maximum power consumption of approximately 70W. Unlike the built-in (non-swappable) PSUs on the -04, the -08’s power modules can be replaced under load — no downtime to swap a failing PSU in a live deployment. This is the carrier-class reliability feature that justifies the -08 in ISP and operator environments where planned maintenance windows are impractical.

Provisioning and Management

ONU management uses standard OMCI per ITU-T G.984.4/G.988, with ONU auto-authentication for zero-touch onboarding, and supports AES 128-bit encryption for uplink and downlink data transmission. Centralised management is available via the DeltaStream PON Management System (DPMS), SNMP, CLI, and web UI — the same management stack as the -01 and -04, with DPMS supporting batch configuration, firmware upgrades, reboots, multi-site management, and real-time network monitoring across the full fleet.

The UF-OLT is an eight-port GPON optical line terminal designed to manage fibre internet service for up to 1,024 clients at 128 per port. Each GPON OLT SFP port operates at 2488.32 Mbit/s downstream and 1244.16 Mbit/s upstream, at TX 1490 nm / RX 1310 nm using scrambled NRZ line coding, at a maximum physical reach of 20 km. VLAN support spans 4,062 VLANs with 8 priority queues per user port and traffic classification for advanced QoS.

GPON SFP modules sold separately. The eight PON ports are SFP slots. Ubiquiti’s own GPON OLT SFP modules (UF-GP-B+) are the recommended match — sold separately. Third-party Class B+ SFPs may work but are not officially supported.

Dual 10G SFP+ Uplinks

Two 10 Gbps SFP+ uplink ports provide backbone connectivity, with LED indicators distinguishing 10G (white) from 1G (green) link speed at a glance. With 1,024 potential GPON subscribers behind the OLT, the dual 10G uplinks allow for link aggregation or active/standby redundancy to the aggregation layer.

Hot-Swap Redundant Power Supplies

Power is provided by two hot-swappable AC/DC PSUs in a universal 100–240V input configuration, with a maximum power consumption of 40W (excluding SFP modules). One AC PSU is included; the second bay accepts an additional PSU for full redundancy — ordered separately. Both bays also support DC/DC power modules (RPS-DC-100W) for DC-powered environments such as telco cabinets.

Management — UISP Platform, Bluetooth, Out-of-Band

Management interfaces include one Ethernet out-of-band port, one Ethernet in-band port, one RJ45 serial console port, and Bluetooth. Bluetooth enables touchless provisioning and initial setup without needing physical console or network access — a practical feature for field technicians commissioning remote OLT deployments. Full management runs through the UISP platform and UISP mobile app, covering ONU registration, monitoring, firmware updates, and service provisioning.

Ubiquiti GPON CPE Compatibility

The UF-OLT is the native OLT for the Ubiquiti GPON CPE lineup. Compatible CPE includes the WaveFiber ONU (Wave-Fiber-ONU), UF-WiFi6, UF-WIFI, UF-LOCO, and UF-Nano. The UISP-FIBER-XG, UISP-FIBER-XGS, and XGS-PON CPE require the UISP-FIBER-OLT-XGS instead.

GPON only. The UF-OLT does not support XGS-PON or XG-PON. For deployments requiring 10G PON or a migration path to XGS-PON, the UISP-FIBER-OLT-XGS is the appropriate choice.
