Description
Strong 14th Gen Performance for Business Workloads
The Core i7-14700 brings 20 cores (8 performance + 12 efficiency), 28 threads, and a boost frequency of 5.4 GHz with a 33MB cache and Intel UHD Graphics 770 — handling the full range of business workloads from email and office productivity to multi-tab browsing, video conferencing, data processing, and light creative tasks simultaneously. The 16GB DDR5-5600 ships in one of two UDIMM slots, with one slot free and a maximum ceiling of 64GB. This is Dell’s “Essential” tier positioning — capable hardware at a value price point, without the vPro enterprise management features found on the Pro Tower QCT1250.
Storage, Expansion & Connectivity
The 512GB M.2 2230/2280 PCIe NVMe SSD handles primary storage, with a SATA 3.0 bay for a 3.5″ HDD for secondary storage (rotation bay purchased separately). Expansion includes three full-height PCIe Gen3 slots — one x16 for a discrete GPU and two x1 for add-in cards. Front I/O provides 2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, and a global headset jack. The rear adds 2x USB 2.0 (Smart Power On), 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a (HBR2), and Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45). MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth are built in. An optional rear expansion port can be populated with VGA, additional HDMI, additional DP, dual USB 3.2 Gen 2, or USB-C with DP Alt Mode.
Security & Sustainability
Security provisions include TPM 2.0, Kensington lock slot, padlock loop, and chassis intrusion detection. The chassis is built from 43% recycled plastic and 50% recycled steel, and holds ENERGY STAR and EPEAT Silver with Climate+ certifications.
💡 The QVT1260 shares the same chassis and expansion slot layout as the Pro Tower QCT1250 — if your storage or GPU expansion plans outgrow the 180W Bronze PSU, it can be upgraded to the optional 360W Platinum unit without replacing the machine.
⚠️ This is Dell’s “Essential” tier and does not include Intel vPro — organisations requiring out-of-band remote management (Intel AMT) should consider the Pro Tower QCT1250 i7-14700 vPro variant instead. The Wi-Fi module is also MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 rather than the Intel Wi-Fi 6E found in the QCT1250.
