Asus ROG Strix Radeon™ RX 6700 XT Gaming OC (12GB GDDR6)

R17,865.00 inc. VAT

The ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 6700 XT OC Edition is ASUS’s flagship take on the RDNA 2 1440p card — a 2.9-slot cooler with 13-blade centre fan, Super Alloy Power II components, Dual BIOS switch, 0dB fan mode, FanConnect II PWM header, and a PSU rail voltage monitoring circuit that lights up if your power delivery has an issue. It shares the 2622 MHz factory boost clock with the TUF Gaming variant but pairs it with a higher 2568 MHz OC game clock, a more capable power delivery stage, and the full ROG feature set including Armoury Crate ARGB integration.

Description

ROG Tier — Where the Feature List Gets Serious

The ROG Strix sits at the top of ASUS’s RX 6700 XT lineup, above the TUF Gaming. The silicon is unchanged — AMD’s Navi 22 at 40 compute units, 2560 stream processors, 96MB Infinity Cache, and 12GB GDDR6 at 16 Gbps on a 192-bit bus — but everything supporting that silicon is built to a higher specification. The OC mode boost clock matches the TUF at 2622 MHz, while the game clock pushes to 2568 MHz — 34 MHz ahead of the TUF’s OC game clock, reflecting the higher-grade power delivery that can sustain elevated frequencies more consistently under load. AMD Smart Access Memory, FreeSync Premium Pro, DirectX 12 Ultimate, hardware ray tracing, and FSR 1, 2, and 3 are fully supported.

Super Alloy Power II and PSU Rail Monitoring

The power delivery stage uses ASUS’s Super Alloy Power II specification: premium alloy chokes, solid polymer capacitors, and an array of high-current power stages rated for sustained delivery of hundreds of watts without thermal stress on the components. A standout engineering detail is the onboard PSU rail voltage monitoring circuit — fast enough to catch transient drops in rail voltage from an underpowered or failing PSU, triggering a red LED indicator on the card to flag a power delivery issue before it causes instability. This is a genuinely useful diagnostic feature, particularly in builds where PSU quality may be uncertain. Two 8-pin PCIe connectors handle power delivery with a 550W PSU recommendation.

Axial-Tech Triple Fan — 13 Blades, 0dB, FanConnect II

ASUS built the ROG Strix cooler around a differentiated fan configuration: the centre fan carries 13 blades (vs 11 on the outer two) and a full-height ring that focuses high-static-pressure airflow directly onto the GPU die. The outer fans use open-ring designs for broader heatsink coverage, and the centre fan spins in the opposite direction to reduce inter-fan turbulence. 0dB mode stops all three fans completely below the thermal threshold for silent desktop use. FanConnect II adds a hybrid-controlled PWM fan header on the card edge — connect a case fan directly to the GPU and it will be governed by GPU temperature rather than CPU temperature, improving system airflow during demanding gaming sessions. The MaxContact heat spreader uses a machined-flat surface for improved die contact, and the vented backplate actively exhausts heat away from the PCB rather than trapping it.

Dual BIOS, Armoury Crate ARGB, Builder-Ready

A physical Dual BIOS toggle switches between Performance and Quiet profiles without software — a feature the TUF Gaming does not include. Addressable RGB runs along the front of the card and through the ROG logo, controllable via Armoury Crate with synchronisation across other ROG and ASUS Aura-compatible components. A reinforced metal frame runs the full length of the PCB preventing torsion and lateral flex, and the overall 2.9-slot design expands the heatsink footprint compared to the previous ROG Strix generation for greater thermal headroom. GPU Tweak II handles clock, voltage, fan curve, and real-time OSD monitoring.

⚠️ Previous-generation card: Based on RDNA 2 (2021). FSR 4 and AMD HYPR-RX require RDNA 4 hardware and are not supported. FSR 1, 2, and 3 are fully supported.

⚠️ Length warning: At 322mm, verify GPU clearance in your case before purchasing — particularly important in mATX and compact mid-tower builds.

⚠️ vs TUF Gaming: The ROG Strix adds Dual BIOS, 0dB mode, FanConnect II, Super Alloy Power II, the PSU rail monitoring LED, and a higher OC game clock over the TUF. Both carry the same boost clock ceiling and 2× 8-pin power config. Choose the Strix if the extra features and power delivery quality justify the premium for your build.
