Series 2 Intel AI Performance

The Core Ultra 7 265 is Intel’s Series 2 Arrow Lake desktop processor, bringing 20 cores (8 performance + 12 efficiency), 20 threads, a 5.3 GHz boost frequency, a 30MB cache, and a dedicated Intel AI Boost NPU delivering up to 13 TOPS of on-device AI processing. This puts it in a different category to the 14th Gen i7-14700 in the BTO012 — the Arrow Lake architecture introduces native AI acceleration for AI-enhanced apps, Copilot+ features, and intelligent workload offloading that the previous generation doesn’t support. The 8GB DDR5-5600 ships in one of two DIMM slots, with one slot free. Maximum supported memory on this platform is higher than the 14th Gen QCT1250 variant.

Connectivity & Expansion

The chassis and I/O layout are identical to the rest of the QCT1250 range — front 2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, and a global headset jack; rear 2x USB 2.0 (Smart Power On), 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a (HBR3), and Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45). The Ultra 7 265 variant steps the rear DisplayPort up to HBR3 (vs HBR2 on the 14th Gen), and the optional rear expansion slot can be populated with VGA, additional HDMI, additional DP, dual USB 3.2 Gen 2, or USB-C with DP Alt Mode. Expansion includes one full-height Gen3 PCIe x16, two full-height Gen3 PCIe x1, one M.2 2230/2280 SSD slot, one M.2 2230 Wi-Fi slot, one SATA 3.0 HDD bay, and one SATA slim ODD bay.
