Gigabyte GeForce RTX™ 5050 Low Profile OC (8GB GDDR6)

R6,055.00 inc. VAT

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5050 OC Low Profile brings NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture into a half-height, 182 mm form factor — purpose-built for SFF cases and slim desktops that can’t accommodate a full-size card. It carries 2,560 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 on a 128-bit bus, and boosts to 2587 MHz, with full support for DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation and hardware ray tracing. PCIe 5.0, four display outputs, and a low-profile bracket included in the box.

Description

Blackwell in a Half-Height Form Factor

The RTX 5050 OC Low Profile is built on NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture with 2,560 CUDA cores, a 2587 MHz boost clock (versus the 2572 MHz reference), 8GB of GDDR6 at 20 Gbps, and a 128-bit memory interface. That 128-bit bus delivers up to 320 GB/s of memory bandwidth — 43% more than the outgoing RTX 3050. Blackwell’s fourth-generation RT Cores, fifth-generation Tensor Cores, and DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation bring meaningfully next-generation features to a card sized for compact systems. NVIDIA Reflex 2 and NVIDIA Encoder (ninth-gen) round out the feature set.

Compact Cooling Done Seriously

The card measures 182 × 69 × 36 mm — half-height, but not half-effort on the thermal side. Gigabyte’s cooling system features a copper plate with direct GPU contact and composite copper heat pipes to transfer heat efficiently to the heatsink. Server-grade thermal conductive gel is used as the thermal interface material rather than standard pads, covering the memory chips and MOSFETs for more consistent temperatures under load. Graphene Nano Lubricant is used in the fan bearings for quieter, longer-lasting operation. Given the compact cooler, adequate chassis airflow matters — see the warning below.

Form Factor and Compatibility

A low-profile bracket is included in the box for SFF case compatibility. Despite the half-height PCB, the card occupies two slots — worth checking against your chassis’s available expansion slot spacing, particularly in small ITX or slim desktop cases where adjacent slots may be occupied. The interface is PCIe 5.0, operating at x8 electrically, which is fully backwards compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 slots.

Power and Display Output

The RTX 5050 has a 130W TDP and requires a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, with Gigabyte recommending a minimum 550W PSU. Display outputs include 1× DisplayPort 2.1b, 1× DisplayPort 1.4a, and 2× HDMI 2.1b, supporting up to 4 simultaneous displays at resolutions up to 7680×4320.

⚠️ Dual-slot low profile: Despite the half-height design, this card occupies 2 slots. Confirm your SFF or slim chassis has two adjacent low-profile expansion slots available before purchasing.

⚠️ External power required: A single 8-pin PCIe power connector is required. This card is not bus-powered — ensure your PSU has a free 8-pin PCIe cable and meets the 550W minimum recommendation.

⚠️ Airflow matters: The compact cooler relies on good chassis airflow to maintain temperatures under sustained gaming load. In poorly ventilated SFF cases, thermal throttling is possible. Prioritise cases with active ventilation near the GPU.

⚠️ 8GB GDDR6 note: Some current AAA titles at high texture settings can push past 8GB of VRAM. This card is optimised for 1080p; expect to manage texture quality settings in the most demanding modern titles to avoid VRAM pressure.
