Platform and Connectivity

The i5-14400 sits on the LGA 1700 socket and is compatible with Intel 700-series and 600-series chipset motherboards, giving builders flexibility across both new and existing platforms. Both DDR4 and DDR5 memory are supported, making it a practical upgrade for systems already running DDR4. PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 connectivity provide up to 20 combined lanes for GPU and NVMe storage. ECC memory is supported on compatible motherboards. The multiplier is locked on this non-K SKU, meaning CPU frequency overclocking is not available, though memory overclocking via XMP/EXPO profiles is supported on compatible boards.

Integrated Graphics

The i5-14400 includes Intel UHD Graphics 730 — a step down from the UHD 770 found on the i7 and i9 parts, but capable of display output, hardware video decode including AV1, and basic productivity without a discrete GPU installed. Support for up to four 4K displays or a single 8K display is provided.
