Intel Core i7-14700K 3.4GHz 8x P-Cores 12x E-Cores LGA1700
R8,785.00 inc. VAT
The Intel Core i7-14700K is a 20-core, 28-thread 14th-generation desktop processor built on Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh architecture, standing out from its predecessor with a notable increase from 8 to 12 Efficient-cores — a meaningful upgrade for multi-threaded workloads. With 8 Performance-cores boosting up to 5.6 GHz via Turbo Boost Max 3.0 and 12 Efficient-cores reaching 4.3 GHz, backed by 33MB of L3 Smart Cache and a 125W base power, it delivers strong performance across gaming, content creation, and heavy multitasking at a mid-to-high-end price point. DDR4 and DDR5 are both supported on the LGA 1700 platform. No cooler is included.

Description
More Cores, More Threads — A Genuine Step Up
The i7-14700K’s most significant upgrade over the i7-13700K is the addition of four extra E-cores, bringing the total from 16 to 20 cores and from 24 to 28 threads. This additional multi-threaded capacity narrows the gap considerably between the i7 and i9 tiers for productivity workloads — video encoding, 3D rendering, software compilation, and virtualisation all scale meaningfully with the extra E-core pairs. The 8 Hyper-Threaded P-cores handle demanding single-threaded gaming and latency-sensitive tasks, while Intel Thread Director manages dynamic workload allocation between the two core types in real time. The cache configuration scales with the added cores: 33MB of L3 and 28MB of L2, up from the 13700K’s figures.
Boost Technologies and Overclocking
The i7-14700K carries Turbo Boost 2.0 and Turbo Boost Max 3.0, with the two fastest P-cores targeting up to 5.6 GHz and Adaptive Boost providing opportunistic all-core frequency uplift. The unlocked multiplier makes overclocking straightforward with Z790 or Z690 chipset motherboards. Both DDR4 and DDR5 memory are supported. PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 connectivity provides up to 20 combined lanes for GPU and NVMe storage. ECC memory is supported on compatible motherboards.
Platform Considerations
The i7-14700K sits on the LGA 1700 socket, compatible with Intel 700-series and 600-series chipset motherboards (BIOS update may be required on some 600-series boards). At 125W base power and 253W maximum turbo, a quality 360mm AIO or high-end tower cooler is recommended for sustained workloads. Intel UHD Graphics 770 provides display output and basic productivity without a discrete GPU.
⚠️ No cooler included — a quality 360mm AIO or high-end tower cooler is recommended for this 125W/253W processor.
