Zen 3 CPU Performance

The Ryzen 7 5700G features 8 cores and 16 threads with a max boost clock of 4.6 GHz — only 100 MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 5800X — making it a genuinely capable CPU for gaming with a discrete GPU, video editing, streaming, and demanding multitasking. When you’re ready to add a GPU later, the 5700G’s CPU remains a solid foundation.

Integrated Radeon Vega 8 Graphics

The integrated Radeon Vega 8 GPU features 8 Compute Units with 512 Streaming Processors running at up to 2000 MHz, capable of light gaming at reduced settings, smooth 4K video playback, and full display output. It’s the fastest iGPU available for the AM4 platform.

One Important Note on Cache

The Ryzen 7 5700G has half the L3 cache of the standard desktop Ryzen 5000 parts — 16MB versus 32MB — as the APU shares silicon with mobile Ryzen, where cache space is reallocated for the GPU. This makes a small difference in cache-sensitive games but doesn’t significantly impact everyday use.

Configurable TDP

With a configurable TDP range of 45–65W, the 5700G can be tuned down for use in smaller, quieter cases with minimal airflow, making it a popular choice for compact SFF and HTPC builds.

⚠️ Note: The Ryzen 7 5700G uses PCIe 3.0 — older than the PCIe 4.0 of non-G Ryzen 5000 chips. For builders primarily using a discrete GPU and NVMe SSD, the Ryzen 5 5600X or 5600XT on PCIe 4.0 may be a better choice.
