The Intel NUC7i5BNHXF arrives as a fully operational Mini PC — Windows 10 installed, storage configured, and RAM pre-fitted — making it the simplest NUC7 to deploy for home office, light productivity, media playback, and basic office workloads. The i5-7260U’s Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 provides meaningfully better integrated GPU performance than UHD or HD Graphics found in lower-tier NUC7 variants, handling 4K media playback, dual-display productivity, and basic media editing workloads without a discrete GPU.

The storage configuration pairs a 16 GB Intel Optane SSD with a 1 TB mechanical hard drive — a setup where the Optane module acts as a high-speed cache and boot accelerator for the HDD. When properly configured via the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) driver, Windows boots and frequently-used applications launch from the Optane cache at near-SSD speeds, while the 1 TB HDD handles high-capacity file storage. This is meaningfully faster than a standalone HDD but does not match the sustained random access performance of a dedicated SATA or NVMe SSD in all workloads.

The 115 × 111 × 51 mm chassis includes a 2.5″ internal drive bay (supporting up to 9.5mm thick drives), two SODIMM slots expandable to 32 GB, a VESA wall mount kit for monitor-back or wall deployment, a consumer IR sensor for remote control input, and a microSDXC reader for memory cards up to 256 GB.

⚠️ The Intel Core i5-7260U is a 7th Generation (Kaby Lake) processor and is not on Microsoft’s Windows 11 supported CPU list. This unit ships with Windows 10 and cannot be officially upgraded to Windows 11. Windows 10 reached end of support in October 2025. Buyers should be aware of this OS lifecycle consideration before purchasing.

⚠️ The 16 GB Optane SSD is not a standalone SSD — it functions as a cache accelerator for the 1 TB HDD using Intel RST Optane technology. The Intel RST driver must be installed and configured for the Optane acceleration to work correctly. Without the RST driver, the system may operate from the HDD alone at conventional HDD speeds.

⚠️ The 4 GB DDR4 SODIMM is a single-channel configuration (one stick in one slot). Adding a second matched 4 GB stick in the second slot enables dual-channel mode and improves integrated graphics and memory bandwidth performance meaningfully at no extra cost beyond the memory purchase.

⚠️ Wi-Fi is Wireless-AC (Wi-Fi 5, 867 Mbps dual-band, 2.4/5 GHz) — not Wi-Fi 6 or 6E.
