The CRS326-24G-2S+RM can run either RouterOS or SwOS — you can easily switch between them. SwOS is specifically designed for switch configuration and provides a clean web interface for everyday managed switching tasks, while RouterOS unlocks the full power of MikroTik’s enterprise-grade routing and networking feature set. No other switch at this price point gives you this level of flexibility.

Layer 3 Routing — Fully Capable

Unlike the CSS326 which is limited to Layer 2 SwOS operation, the CRS326 under RouterOS delivers full Layer 3 inter-VLAN routing, dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP), hardware-offloaded routing, VPN termination (WireGuard, IPsec, OpenVPN, L2TP), firewall, QoS, and bandwidth management. It is capable of running many RouterOS features, though CPU-intensive tasks should be carefully considered given its role as a switch.

Non-Blocking Wire-Speed Switching

The Marvell Prestera switch chip delivers high-speed, efficient data routing with non-blocking switching capacity — guaranteeing wire-speed performance across all 24 Gigabit ports simultaneously without congestion, backed by a 16K host table for large network deployments.

Dual 10G SFP+ Uplinks

Two SFP+ cages accept both 1.25G SFP and 10G SFP+ modules, giving you a fast aggregation uplink to your core switch, NAS, or server infrastructure. Whether running fibre or direct-attach copper, the 10G uplinks ensure your distribution layer is never the bottleneck.

Full Managed Feature Set

IEEE 802.1Q VLANs with up to 4K simultaneous VLANs, port isolation, port security, broadcast storm control, port mirroring, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, Access Control Lists, bandwidth limitation per port, SNMP, and MikroTik Neighbour Discovery are all included — accessible via SwOS GUI, WinBox, WebFig, or SSH CLI under RouterOS.

Fanless & Rack-Ready

Completely fanless passive cooling means silent operation in any environment. Rack ears are included for clean 1U installation. Passive PoE input (12–30V) or DC jack accepts flexible power sources — no PoE output to end devices.

Free Lifetime Software Updates

Ships with both RouterOS and SwOS pre-installed and fully licensed under RouterOS Level 5. No separate software purchase required, with free updates for the life of the device.

⚠️ Important Notes:

Passive PoE input only — this switch does not provide PoE output to connected devices.

SFP/SFP+ modules not included — compatible modules must be purchased separately.

RouterOS is CPU-routed — while full RouterOS features are available, hardware-intensive routing workloads at very high throughput are better suited to a dedicated router. For most SOHO and small business deployments this is not a concern.

The CRS326 runs RouterOS Level 5 — a step above the Level 4 found on the hEX S, adding BGP support.
