Description
Small Router. Serious Capability.
The MikroTik hEX PoE lite is a small yet powerful networking device designed for home and small office installations — ideal for users who prioritise wired connectivity and do not require Wi-Fi. Don’t let its compact size fool you: RouterOS Level 4 brings enterprise-grade routing features to an entry-level price point.
Passive PoE Output on Four Ports
Ports 2–5 can power other PoE capable devices with the same voltage as applied to the unit, with a maximum current of 1A per port and shielded Ethernet ports throughout. PoE output must be enabled per port in RouterOS — it is disabled by default. Once enabled, the Ethernet LED for that port turns from green to red, indicating active PoE power delivery. This makes it straightforward to power IP cameras, wireless access points, and other passive PoE devices without separate injectors.
RouterOS Level 4 — Enterprise Features, SOHO Price
The reliable single-core 650 MHz chipset and 64MB of RAM ensure seamless handling of all configurations supported by the RouterOS operating system. RouterOS L4 includes firewall, routing, VLAN, QoS, VPN, bandwidth management, and much more — with WinBox GUI, WebFig, and CLI access all available out of the box.
Passive PoE Input & USB Expansion
The device accepts 8–28V DC passive PoE input on the first Ethernet port (12V or more recommended to compensate for cable loss), alongside a dedicated DC jack. The USB 2.0 port supports storage expansion and 3G/4G modem connectivity for failover or primary WAN via a compatible USB modem.
Free Lifetime Software Updates
The device has RouterOS preinstalled and licensed with no separate purchase necessary, and includes free software updates for the life of the product or a minimum of 5 years from the date of purchase.
⚠️ Important Notes:
- No Wi-Fi — this is a wired-only router. A separate wireless access point is required for wireless connectivity.
- Passive PoE only — not 802.3af/at standard PoE. Only passive PoE-compatible devices will work on ports 2–5. Verify device compatibility before connecting.
- PoE output is disabled by default — it must be enabled per port in RouterOS.
- This device is intended for indoor use only.
