The MQ04AB series is suitable for ultra-portable laptop and notebook PCs, as well as slim-line all-in-one desktop PCs and high-end multimedia devices where low power and mobile-class robustness help achieve platform design requirements.

The MQ04ABF100 delivers up to 149 MB/s data transfer rates via its SATA 6Gb/s interface, backed by a 128MB cache for improved real-world responsiveness. Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and Advanced Format (512e) sector technology further optimise read/write efficiency across mixed workloads typical of everyday laptop use.
SMR Recording — Know Before You Buy
The MQ04ABF100 uses Drive-Managed SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) technology. SMR delivers excellent cost-per-gigabyte and good sequential read performance, but is best suited for light mixed workloads typical of laptop primary storage and media archiving. It is not recommended for write-intensive applications, RAID arrays, or NAS use where CMR drives are preferred.
