Description

Four Ports, 512 ONTs

The DS-P7001-04 provides 4× 2.5G PON SFP ports, each supporting a 1:128 split ratio — accommodating up to 512 ONTs across the device. Each PON port operates independently, so the four ports can serve four separate fibre distribution legs simultaneously, whether serving different buildings, floors, or network zones. GPON data rates are 2.5 Gbps downstream and 1.25 Gbps upstream per port, at TX 1490 nm / RX 1310 nm on 9/125 µm single-mode fibre, with SC/UPC connectors and Class C+ optical power, at up to 20 km transmission distance.

⚠️ GPON SFP modules sold separately. The four PON ports are SFP slots. Class C+ OLT SFP modules must be sourced separately and matched to your planned split ratio and distance.

Redundant Dual Power Supplies — a Key Step Up from the -01

The most significant operational difference between the DS-P7001-04 and the single-port DS-P7001-01 is power redundancy. The DS-P7001-04 includes dual built-in AC and DC power supplies — AC input 100–240V 50/60Hz; DC input −38.4V to −72V — with a maximum power consumption of 58W. Where the -01 relies on a single DC adapter or PoE input, the -04’s dual hot-swappable AC+DC PSUs provide carrier-class resilience: an AC mains failure fails over to the DC input without service interruption. This makes the -04 appropriate for deployments where uptime requirements are stricter.

Uplink and Management Ports

Interface complement is: 4× 2.5G PON SFP slots, 1× 10 Gbps SFP+ uplink, 1× 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 uplink, 1× RJ45 MGMT port (out-of-band), 1× RJ45 Console port, and 1× Alarm port (reserved). The dedicated MGMT port keeps management traffic separated from subscriber data — important for production deployments. The 10G SFP+ uplink connects to your backbone or aggregation switch; the GbE RJ45 uplink provides an alternative copper uplink option.

Provisioning and Management

ONU management uses standard OMCI (ITU-T G.984.4/G.988) with ONU auto-authentication for zero-touch ONT onboarding. Centralised management runs through the DeltaStream PON Management System (DPMS), SNMP, CLI, and web UI — the same management stack as the -01 and -08, so mixed fleets are managed from one platform.

L2/L2+ Feature Set

Software features include Static Routing, DHCP Server and Relay, ACL, 802.1X authentication, ARP Inspection, IP Source Guard, IGMP Snooping, MLD Snooping, multi-service traffic identification and rate limiting, rogue ONU detection and isolation, and uplink/downlink AES data encryption. The addition of ARP Inspection and IP Source Guard on the -04 (over the -01) reflects its positioning for slightly more demanding operator and enterprise deployments.
