The Core i3-1315U is a 13th Gen Intel U-series ultra-low-power processor with 6 cores (2 performance + 4 efficiency), 8 threads, and a boost frequency of 4.5 GHz with a 10MB cache and Intel UHD Graphics. The U-series designation means it runs at a lower TDP than the H-series chips in the rest of the P500SV range — prioritising energy efficiency and near-silent operation over peak multi-threaded throughput. It’s well-matched to single-user office workloads: email, web browsing, document processing, video calls, and light multitasking. The 16GB DDR5 ships in one of two SO-DIMM slots, with a second slot free and 64GB maximum supported — generous RAM for a processor at this tier.

Storage, Connectivity & Expansion

The 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD handles primary storage, with a second M.2 2280 slot and two SATA 6Gb/s ports available for expansion. A PCIe 4.0 x16 (operating at x8) slot is unpopulated and available for a future discrete GPU — the NVIDIA RTX™ A400 is on ASUS’s qualified vendor list for this platform. Front I/O covers 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and a 2-in-1 SD/MMC card reader. ⚠️ The Core i3-1315U is a U-series processor — significantly lower peak multi-threaded throughput than the H-series Core i5 and i7 variants in this range. It’s well-suited to single-user office workloads but not recommended for heavily multi-threaded tasks, video editing, or running multiple demanding applications simultaneously.

💡 The 16GB DDR5 is the standout value of this configuration — generous RAM at this processor tier means the machine handles browser-heavy workflows and multiple open applications comfortably, even if raw CPU throughput is modest.

⚠️ The P500SV’s DisplayPort does not support Dual-Mode (DP++). Passive DP-to-HDMI/DVI adapters will not function — use an active adapter or a native DisplayPort monitor.
