The Core Ultra 5 225 is an Intel Series 2 Arrow Lake desktop processor with 10 cores (6 performance + 4 efficiency), 10 threads, a 2.7 GHz base and 4.9 GHz boost, backed by a 20MB cache and a dedicated Intel AI Boost NPU delivering 13 TOPS of on-device AI acceleration. This puts the BTO101 in a different category to the 14th Gen QVT1260 variants — native AI processing enables Copilot+ features, AI-enhanced apps, and intelligent workload offloading unavailable on the previous generation. The 16GB DDR5-5600 ships in one of two UDIMM slots, with one slot free and a maximum ceiling of 64GB.

Storage, Expansion & Connectivity

The 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD handles primary storage, with a SATA 3.0 bay available for a 3.5″ HDD and a SATA slim ODD bay for an optional optical drive. Expansion includes three full-height PCIe Gen3 slots — one x16 for a discrete GPU and two x1 for add-in cards. Front I/O provides 2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, and a global headset jack. 💡 The Core Ultra 5 225 brings a dedicated NPU and Series 2 Arrow Lake architecture — making this the AI-capable step-up over the 14th Gen i7-14700 BTO014 variant in terms of platform generation, even though the i7-14700 has more CPU cores and higher peak multi-threaded throughput.

⚠️ This is the “Essential” tier — no Intel vPro support. Businesses requiring out-of-band remote management should consider the Pro Tower QCT1250 range instead. The Wi-Fi module is also MediaTek Wi-Fi 6, not Intel Wi-Fi 6E.
