Description

RTX 5070: A Meaningful Performance Tier

The RTX 5070 is a significant step above the RTX 5060 Ti — not an incremental upgrade. The GPU carries 6,144 CUDA cores, 50% more than the RTX 5060 Ti’s 4,608, on a 192-bit memory interface rather than the 128-bit bus shared by the entire RTX 5060 family. That wider bus, combined with 28 Gbps GDDR7 across 12GB of VRAM, delivers substantially more memory bandwidth — a critical factor at 1440p and 4K with high texture settings. The factory overclock pushes the boost clock to 2542 MHz above the reference specification, and the full Blackwell feature set is present: DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, NVIDIA Reflex 2 with Frame Warp, fourth-generation RT Cores, fifth-generation Tensor Cores, and NVIDIA Studio creative tools.

Triple WINDFORCE Hawk Fan Cooling in a 2-Slot Body

Despite being a 2-slot design, the WINDFORCE cooling system fits three alternate-spinning Hawk fans into the SFF-compatible profile. Graphene nano lubricant extends the life of the double ball bearing fans while providing quieter operation. The complete WINDFORCE system adds composite copper heat pipes, a large copper plate with direct GPU contact, 3D active fan semi-passive idle, and screen cooling fins for efficient sustained thermal performance. Server-grade thermal conductive gel is used across the GPU die, VRAM, and MOSFETs. The 3D Active Fan design stops all fans during low loads for completely silent operation, spinning up when gaming begins.

SFF-Ready: Compact Slot Profile, Not Compact Length

The “SFF” designation refers to the 2-slot form factor, which complies with NVIDIA’s specification for small form factor builds. At 282 mm in length, this is not a short card — it will require standard mid-tower clearance. The slim dual-slot profile means it won’t block adjacent expansion slots, making it well-suited to builds with PCIe devices in neighbouring slots, mATX platforms, and cases where slot width is the primary constraint.

Power Connector and Accessories

The card uses a single 16-pin (12V-2×6) power connector with a 750W PSU recommendation. A 12V-2×6 to 2× PCIe 8-pin adapter is included in the box, making this card compatible with PSUs that don’t have a native 16-pin cable — a practical inclusion for those upgrading from an older system. Display outputs cover 3× DisplayPort 2.1b and 1× HDMI 2.1b, supporting up to 4 simultaneous displays at 7680×4320. The card connects via PCIe 5.0, fully backwards compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 motherboards.

⚠️ “SFF” means 2-slot, not short: At 282 mm this card requires standard full-length GPU clearance. Confirm your chassis’s GPU length limit before purchasing. The “SFF” designation refers to the slim 2-slot profile only.

⚠️ Power connector: This card uses a 16-pin 12V-2×6 connector. A 2× 8-pin adapter is included, but native 12V-2×6 cable from your PSU is preferred for reliability. Do not use daisy-chained 8-pin adapters without confirming your PSU’s per-cable rating.

⚠️ PSU requirement: 750W recommended — a step up from the 650W needed for RTX 5060 Ti cards. Verify before purchasing, especially when upgrading from a lower-tier system.

⚠️ Thermal gel note: A small number of user reports mention thermal gel migration when the card is mounted vertically. Standard horizontal mounting is recommended.
