R4,079.00 inc. VAT
The Intel Core Ultra 5 225 is a 10-core, 10-thread Arrow Lake Series 2 desktop processor built on TSMC’s 3nm process, offering modern platform features and Intel’s Xe-LPG integrated graphics at a practical 65W base TDP. With 6 Performance-cores boosting up to 4.9 GHz and 4 Efficient-cores reaching 4.4 GHz, backed by 20MB of L3 Smart Cache and a 121W maximum turbo power, it’s a capable everyday desktop processor for productivity, general computing, and light gaming without a discrete GPU. DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 support are included on the new LGA 1851 platform.

Description
Arrow Lake at 65W — Accessible and Efficient
The 225 is the non-overclockable member of the Arrow Lake Series 2 desktop lineup, sharing the same TSMC 3nm compute tile as the K-series chips but configured with 6 P-cores, 4 E-cores, and a halved base TDP of 65W. The reduced E-core count and lower power envelope make it a straightforward choice for productivity-focused builds, compact desktops, and systems where power efficiency matters more than peak multi-threaded throughput. Intel Thread Director is present, dynamically assigning workloads to the right core type at the right time without user intervention. The multi-chiplet Foveros 3D architecture connects the CPU, graphics, and SoC tiles across different process nodes for a balanced mix of performance and efficiency.
Xe-LPG Integrated Graphics
The 225 features Intel’s Arc Xe-LPG integrated graphics with 4 Xe cores — the same architecture as the K-series Arrow Lake processors, bringing DirectX 12 Ultimate support, hardware ray tracing, and a meaningful step up from the older Xe-LP iGPU found in previous Intel desktop generations. This makes the 225 a practical choice for builds that need display output and basic graphical capability without a discrete GPU, including office workstations, compact builds, and home productivity systems.
Platform Considerations
The 225 requires an Intel 800-series LGA 1851 motherboard — it is not compatible with LGA 1700 boards. DDR5 memory is supported up to 6400 MT/s in single DIMM-per-channel configurations. The multiplier is locked on this SKU, meaning CPU frequency overclocking is not available. The integrated NPU delivers up to 23 TOPS for AI-accelerated workloads in compatible applications. Note that Intel 800-series motherboards without the Z890 overclocking chipset — such as B860 and H870 boards — are the natural pairing for this processor.
⚠️ No cooler included — a quality tower air cooler is sufficient for this 65W processor.
