Kingston KC600 1TB 2.5″ SSD

R6,249.00 inc. VAT

The KC600 in 1TB form — the same trusted 3D TLC NAND and hardware encryption as the 256GB, but with more headroom for the things that actually fill a drive. Sequential read/write speeds hit up to 550/520MB/s, and you get four times the write endurance of the entry-capacity model for a drive you can rely on long term.

Description

More Capacity, Better Write Performance

The 1TB KC600 improves on the 256GB in one meaningful way beyond raw storage: sequential writes climb to 520MB/s — a 20MB/s gain over the smaller variant — thanks to having more NAND chips available for parallel write operations. Random performance stays the same across the range, topping out at 90,000/80,000 IOPS for reads and writes. For users regularly moving large files or running multiple applications from the same drive, that extra write throughput adds up.

Hardware Encryption, Same as Ever

No compromises on security at this capacity. The 1TB KC600 carries the full suite: AES 256-bit hardware encryption, TCG Opal 2.0, and eDrive support — all enforced at the drive level with no CPU overhead. Pair it with a compliant software stack and you have a self-encrypting drive suitable for business environments where data protection isn’t optional.

Endurance Worth Talking About

The 1TB KC600 is rated for 600TBW — four times the 150TBW of the 256GB model. Kingston backs it with a 5-year warranty, and the DRAM cache on the 1TB model is 1GB DDR3L, helping sustain consistent performance during larger transfers. For a SATA drive being used as a primary system drive, these numbers point to a long, reliable service life.

Fit and Form Factor

Same physical profile as all KC600 variants — 100.1mm × 69.85mm × 7mm, weighing 40g. Fits any standard 2.5″ bay in a desktop or laptop, and the SATA III interface is backwards compatible with SATA II systems. The 7mm height also covers slim laptop form factors.

⚠️ SATA only — this is a SATA drive, not NVMe. It will not fit an M.2 slot. Confirm your system has a 2.5″ SATA bay before ordering.

💡 Good sweet spot in the range — the 1TB model hits the full 520MB/s write speed that the 256GB variant misses, and the 600TBW endurance rating makes it the more compelling choice for a primary OS and applications drive.
