The write speed is lower than some competing 240GB drives — worth knowing upfront — but for the typical use case of booting Windows, running office applications, and everyday file work, the practical difference is minimal.

Kioxia 3D NAND, LDPC ECC, and E2E Data Protection

The S270 uses the latest 3D NAND flash technology for dense, compact storage. Built-in LDPC ECC (Low-Density Parity Check) error correction ensures data integrity and extends NAND lifespan, alongside E2E Data Path protection for enhanced system stability during transfers. These aren’t marketing terms — LDPC ECC is a meaningfully stronger error correction algorithm than basic ECC, capable of recovering data from a higher number of bit errors, which matters for drive longevity.
