What Makes This Different

Most GPON CPEs are ISP-provisioned gateway devices. The EAP610GP-Desktop is something different — it’s an Omada business-class access point that happens to include a GPON ONU, positioning it for managed multi-tenant and hospitality deployments rather than simple home or SOHO use. One fibre connection carries wired, wireless, voice, VoIP, data, and HD video services to a single unit per room or space, with the whole fleet managed centrally via Omada SDN controllers. The GPON port is SC-APC, conforming to ITU-984.x and G.988, Class B+.

GPON Specifications

The GPON port uses an SC-APC connector on 9/125 µm single-mode fibre, compliant with ITU-984.x, G.988, and Class B+, delivering 2.488 Gbps downstream and 1.244 Gbps upstream at Tx 1310 nm / Rx 1490 nm, with a transmit power of 0.5–5 dBm, receiver sensitivity of −27 dBm, and a maximum cable length of 20 km.

AX1800 Wi-Fi 6

Wireless runs 802.11ax dual-band with 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz via 2×2 MU-MIMO, with UL/DL OFDMA, Beamforming, Band Steering, Airtime Fairness, and up to 16 SSIDs (8 per band). Wireless security spans WPA/WPA2/WPA3 in both Personal and Enterprise modes, with 802.1X support and RADIUS Accounting — enterprise-grade security appropriate for managed deployments. Client capacity is rated at 100+ per unit.

Ports — Wired, VoIP, and PoE Out

Interfaces comprise 1× GPON SC-APC port, 4× Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, and 1× RJ11 FXS port for analogue phone. One of the four LAN ports supports 802.3af PoE out, useful for powering a small IP phone or a PoE camera at the endpoint without an additional injector. Maximum power consumption is 17.3 W with PoE out disabled.

⚠️ PoE out limited to 802.3af (up to 15.4W). The maximum PoE out is 13W (EU) or 12W (US) based on lab testing. Not suitable for powering 802.3at (PoE+) devices.

Omada SDN Management

The EAP610GP-Desktop is fully supported by Omada Software Controller, Hardware Controller (OC200/OC300), Cloud-Based Controller, and the Omada app. This means it slots directly into an existing Omada deployment alongside Omada switches and routers — unified management, PPSK (Private Pre-Shared Keys for per-client credentials), multiple captive portal types, seamless 802.11k/v/r roaming, Omada Mesh, and zero-touch provisioning via the cloud controller.

⚠️ Omada Mesh, Seamless Roaming, and Captive Portal require an Omada SDN controller (hardware or software). These features are not available in standalone mode.
