All-in-One GPON CPE with Wi-Fi 6

The UF-WiFi6 consolidates the ONU and the customer’s Wi-Fi router into a single device. Where the WaveFiber ONU hands off to a separate router, this unit terminates the fibre and serves wireless clients directly. It runs on a dual-core MIPS 1004 Kc processor at 900 MHz with 256 MB RAM, providing the headroom for Layer 2/3 management, NAT, routing, firewall, and application passthrough alongside active Wi-Fi.

GPON Specifications

The unit conforms to ITU-G.984 GPON with 2.488 Gbps downstream and 1.244 Gbps upstream via a single SC/APC WAN port, at up to 20 km reach. Like the WaveFiber ONU, it uses the same 3-LED optical signal strength indicator for quick fibre alignment feedback at the premises — all off during bootup, shading from orange (too low/no signal) through one, two, and three whites for increasing signal quality, and orange+2 white for too strong.

Wi-Fi 6 — 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz

Wireless runs 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) on both bands: 2.4 GHz with 2×2 MIMO at up to 300 Mbps, and 5 GHz with 2×2 MU-MIMO and OFDMA at up to 1.2 Gbps — a combined 1.5 Gbps aggregate wireless throughput. Internal antennas provide 1 dBi gain on 2.4 GHz and 3 dBi on 5 GHz. WPA3 is supported alongside WPA/WPA2 for client compatibility.

Four GbE LAN Ports

Four Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 LAN ports provide wired connectivity — double the two ports on the TP-Link XC220-G3, and matching the XC220-G3v, without the VoIP FXS port. The LAN ports are standard 1 GbE; this unit does not have a 2.5 GbE LAN port (that’s the WaveFiber ONU’s differentiator).

Power Options

The UF-WiFi6 can be powered either via the included 5V DC 3A USB-C adapter (1.5 m cord) or via 24V passive PoE (2-pair, 4/5+; 7/8−), with a supported voltage range of 10–30V DC. Maximum power consumption is 11W. The dual power options give installers flexibility — USB-C where a standard power point is available, passive PoE where the unit is mounted remotely from power.

UISP Management and OLT Compatibility

The UF-WiFi6 integrates with the Ubiquiti UISP platform for unified monitoring, remote provisioning via OMCI, remote reset, remote reboot, and remote firmware upgrades.

⚠️ Ubiquiti OLT ecosystem only. This device is only compatible with Ubiquiti Fiber OLT hardware and cannot be used with third-party OLTs. Confirmed compatible OLTs are the UF-OLT, UF-OLT-4, and UISP-FIBER-OLT-XGS.
