Description
Wave Mesh Front Panel — Style and Substance
The AX85 sets itself apart with a ripple-patterned mesh front panel that goes beyond purely functional airflow design — the wave motif gives it a distinctive look without the bulk of a solid or glass front. Functionally, the large-area mesh allows cool air to pass into the chassis freely, feeding the three front-mounted intake fans without restriction. Dual dust filters — a magnetic unit on top and a flat filter at the bottom — make maintenance straightforward without tools, keeping intake quality high over time. It’s a front panel that holds its own aesthetically while never compromising on what matters.
Four ARGB Fans, Daisy-Chain Ready
Four 120mm ARGB fans come pre-installed out of the box — three at the front handling intake and one at the rear for exhaust — covering the primary airflow positions immediately. The front fans support daisy-chain synchronisation, letting you link them together via the lead fan and keep the ARGB cabling manageable. An onboard LED control button on the front I/O panel lets you cycle through lighting effects or switch them off without needing software. The chassis supports up to eight 120mm fans simultaneously, leaving space to add top or PSU shroud fans as the build demands.
Generous Hardware Clearances and Cooling Flexibility
The AX85 is built to accommodate serious hardware. GPUs up to 340mm fit comfortably with all front fans installed; remove the front fan bracket and that ceiling rises to 370mm, opening the door to high-end triple-slot cards. CPU tower coolers up to 160mm tall are supported, and the front panel takes radiators up to 360mm — making 240mm and 360mm AIO liquid coolers a straightforward fit. Storage is well covered with two 3.5″/2.5″ combo bays and two dedicated 2.5″ SSD bays. Cable management sits at 23mm behind the motherboard tray — tight but workable for a neat finish.
⚠️ GPU Length Note: The 370mm GPU clearance figure applies only with the front fan bracket removed. With all three front fans installed, maximum GPU length is 340mm. Measure your card before building — most current-gen cards fall well within the 340mm limit, but flagship models can push longer.
⚠️ PSU Length Note: Check the official Antec spec sheet for your specific PSU length limit with the HDD tray in place, as longer PSUs may require repositioning or removing the tray for a proper fit.
