The Intel NUC 11 Pro (Tiger Canyon) with the i7-1165G7 is a step-change above the entry-level NUC 11 ATK series — bringing Intel’s 11th Gen Tiger Lake architecture with Willow Cove cores and the Iris Xe GPU (96 EU) to the same UCFF 4×4 inch chassis. The i7-1165G7 (4 cores, 8 threads, 12–28W configurable TDP) boosts to 4.7 GHz on a single core, making it significantly faster than the Jasper Lake Celeron across all workload types — office productivity, software development, data analysis, video conferencing, and content creation included. The Iris Xe GPU with 96 execution units also handles light gaming, video acceleration, and some GPU-compute tasks at levels comparable to dedicated entry-level discrete GPUs, making this a genuine all-rounder for demanding compact deployments.

The connectivity lineup reflects Pro-series positioning: dual HDMI 2.0b outputs for simultaneous two-display setups, Thunderbolt 4 (supporting a third display, 40 Gbps data, USB4, and Power Delivery), Thunderbolt 3, Intel 2.5 GbE LAN for faster-than-Gigabit wired performance, and Intel Wi-Fi 6 (AX201) for modern wireless. Two M.2 slots — a PCIe 4.0 x4 M-Key slot for a high-speed NVMe SSD and a PCIe 3.0/SATA B-Key slot for secondary storage — cover both performance and capacity storage needs within the chassis. ⚠️ This is a barebone kit — no RAM and no SSD are included. DDR4-3200 SO-DIMMs (up to 64 GB across 2 slots) and at least one M.2 SSD must be purchased separately before the system is operational.

⚠️ The i7-1165G7 TDP is configurable between 12W and 28W by the system. In the NUC 11 Pro chassis, Intel configures it to run at up to 28W under sustained load, providing full performance headroom — but the chassis requires active cooling (the included fan) to sustain peak performance.

💡 The Intel Iris Xe GPU (96 EU) delivers meaningfully more graphical performance than Intel UHD Graphics — approaching GTX 1050 territory in many workloads. For light esports titles at 1080p low/medium settings, this is a viable integrated GPU without any discrete card.

⚠️ Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3 ports can be used to connect external GPUs (eGPU enclosures) via a Thunderbolt cable — dramatically expanding graphics performance beyond what the integrated Iris Xe can deliver. This is a niche but practical expansion path for users who need occasional heavy GPU workloads.
