The Fury RGB 16GB carries forward the same RGB implementation as the 8GB variant — a full-length illuminated diffuser strip along the top of the module driven by software-controlled RGB, compatible with ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0, and ASRock Polychrome Sync, as well as HyperX’s own NGenuity software. The black aluminium heat spreader and matching black PCB maintain the Fury’s clean aesthetic, with the RGB diffuser sitting above the spreader.

The RGB diffuser adds height to 41.24mm (1.624″) with the heatsink fitted — up from the non-RGB Fury /16’s 34.1mm, and a fraction narrower than the Predator RGB’s 42.2mm. This is comparable to most RGB gaming modules and should clear the majority of tower air coolers, but clearance should be verified before purchasing.

⚠️ Check CPU cooler clearance: At 41.24mm tall, the Fury RGB is taller than the non-RGB Fury (34.1mm). Verify your CPU cooler’s RAM clearance specification before purchasing, particularly with large tower air coolers.

Dual-Rank (2Rx8) Configuration

The HX432C16FB3A/16 is a 2Rx8 dual-rank module based on sixteen 1G×8-bit FBGA components — the same IC topology as the non-RGB Fury /16 and the Predator /16. The dual-rank configuration allows the memory controller to interleave between ranks during operation, delivering improved effective memory bandwidth compared to single-rank 16GB alternatives at the same clock speed and timings.

Dual XMP Profiles & Plug N Play

XMP Profile 1 runs at DDR4-3200 CL16-18-18 at 1.35V. XMP Profile 2 provides a compatibility fallback at DDR4-3000 CL15-17-17 at 1.35V. Without XMP enabled, the SPD defaults to JEDEC DDR4-2400 at 17-17-17 at 1.2V. Plug N Play auto-overclocking at 2400MHz and 2666MHz on compatible platforms is also supported — providing a performance step-up even before XMP is manually activated in BIOS.

💡 XMP must be enabled for rated speed: This module defaults to DDR4-2400 at JEDEC. Enable XMP 2.0 Profile 1 in your BIOS to unlock DDR4-3200 at CL16-18-18. Profile 2 (DDR4-3000 CL15) is available as a fallback. Updating your BIOS before installation is recommended for best compatibility.

💡 AMD note: On AMD Ryzen platforms, the module boots at JEDEC default speed. XMP Profile 1 must be manually selected in BIOS to enable DDR4-3200 at CL16.

Positioning Within the Fury & Predator RGB Lineup

The HX432C16FB3A/16 sits at the intersection of capacity and RGB value in the HyperX DDR4 lineup. Compared to the non-RGB Fury /16 (HX432C16FB3/16): adds RGB at the cost of 7mm extra height. Compared to the Fury RGB /8 (HX432C16FB3A/8): doubles capacity to 16GB in a single slot, steps up to dual-rank. Compared to the Predator RGB /8 (HX432C16PB3A/8): higher capacity single stick, without Infrared Sync cable-free multi-module synchronisation. For builders who want 16GB single-stick with RGB and don’t need Infrared Sync, this is the natural choice.

⚠️ Single stick = single channel: For dual-channel bandwidth and symmetrical RGB across both DIMM slots, add a second HX432C16FB3A/16 in your motherboard’s recommended paired DIMM slots.
