Description

Entry-Level Blackwell with Premium Triple-Fan Cooling

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5050 Gaming OC is NVIDIA’s most accessible Blackwell card, positioned as the long-overdue successor to the RTX 3050 and the most affordable way to access DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, fourth-generation RT cores for hardware ray tracing, and fifth-generation Tensor cores for AI acceleration. The 2632 MHz factory boost clock sits 60 MHz above the 2572 MHz reference specification, and Gigabyte fits the full premium WINDFORCE thermal stack to this card — triple Hawk fans with alternate spinning, server-grade thermal conductive gel at the GPU contact surface rather than standard pads, and a reinforced card structure — delivering sustained thermal performance well below the card’s 100W power envelope and keeping fan speeds exceptionally low during typical gaming sessions.

DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation transforms the RTX 5050’s 2560-core throughput into effective frame rates significantly beyond what native rendering would suggest, making this card competitive with previous-generation mid-range options in DLSS 4-supported titles. NVIDIA Reflex 2 with Frame Warp reduces system latency alongside the frame rate increase, keeping competitive game responsiveness tight. RGB Fusion 2.0-compatible lighting and Gigabyte Control Center software complete the package.

⚠️ The RTX 5050 uses GDDR6, not GDDR7 — memory bandwidth is 20 Gbps / 320 GB/s, notably lower than the RTX 5060’s 28 Gbps GDDR7. This is the primary hardware distinction between the two cards and affects performance in memory-bandwidth-sensitive workloads and at higher resolutions. The RTX 5050 is best matched to 1080p gaming; 1440p is achievable with DLSS but native 1440p performance will reflect the bandwidth difference.

⚠️ The RTX 5050 uses a PCIe 5.0 x8 electrical interface. On PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 platforms this has no meaningful gaming impact. On PCIe 3.0 the effective bandwidth equals PCIe 3.0 x4 — verify compatibility for legacy builds.

⚠️ At 2560 CUDA cores and ~100W TDP, this is a genuine entry-level card. It comfortably replaces RTX 3050 and GTX 1660 Super class hardware with the addition of DLSS 4 and ray tracing, but should not be compared to RTX 5060 performance expectations.

💡 The RTX 5050 Gaming OC benefits from the same Hawk fan + server-grade thermal gel package as the more expensive AERO OC on the RTX 5060 range — an unusually premium cooler for an entry-level card, contributing to near-silent operation during everyday gaming at 1080p.

Technical Specifications

The RTX 5050 uses NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPU with 2560 CUDA cores, factory overclocked to 2632 MHz boost (reference 2572 MHz). The 8 GB GDDR6 frame buffer runs at 20 Gbps on a 128-bit bus delivering 320 GB/s of bandwidth. Outputs are 2× DisplayPort 2.1b and 2× HDMI 2.1b, supporting up to four simultaneous displays at up to 7680×4320. A single 8-pin PCIe power connector is required with a 550W system PSU recommended.
