The B850 Eagle WiFi7 Ice is the wireless-equipped variant of the B850 Eagle Ice, adding Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 to an otherwise identical all-white platform. The 12+2+2 phase digital VRM on a 6-layer, mid-loss PCB with VRM Thermal Armor delivers robust power delivery across the full Ryzen 7000/8000/9000 range with genuine OC headroom, and the 8+4-pin ATX12V configuration covers both standard and high-load scenarios. Six fan headers — CPU_FAN, CPU_OPT/pump, three system fan headers, and a system fan/pump header — give this board one of the most comprehensive fan control setups at the Eagle tier, and the onboard reset button plus Multi-Key button make it well equipped for open-frame or regular build environments. Wi-Fi 7 (Realtek RTL8922AE, 802.11be) brings the latest wireless standard with MLO (Multi-Link Operation) support, 2.4/5/6 GHz tri-band capability, and speeds up to 2.4 Gbps — a meaningful upgrade over Wi-Fi 6E for supported devices and networks. ⚠️ Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) features and the full performance benefits of Wi-Fi 7 require Windows 11 SV3 (or later). There is no Windows 10 driver support for the RTL8922AE Wi-Fi 7 module. On Windows 10 or older Windows 11 builds, the adapter will operate at Wi-Fi 6/6E speeds only.

⚠️ CPU overclocking is fully supported on B850. The 12+2+2 VRM handles the full Ryzen range at stock and moderate OC confidently. Connect both ATX12V connectors for sustained heavy overclocking workloads.

Memory and Storage

Four DDR5 DIMM slots support dual-channel operation up to 256 GB, with AMD EXPO and XMP profiles reaching DDR5-8200 (OC). M2A_CPU is CPU-connected and runs at PCIe 5.0 x4 (128 Gb/s) with Ryzen 7000/9000, supporting 22110 and 2280 form factors, with white M.2 Thermal Guard heatsink. M2B_CPU is CPU-connected at PCIe 4.0 x4 (64 Gb/s) with Ryzen 7000/9000, also supporting 22110 and 2280, and drops to PCIe 4.0 x2 with Ryzen 8000 Phoenix 2. M2C_SB is chipset-connected at PCIe 4.0 x2 (32 Gb/s), supporting 22110 and 2280. All three M.2 slots carry white 5 W/mk Thermal Guard heatsinks. Four SATA 6Gb/s ports handle additional storage, with RAID 0/1/5/10 for NVMe (RAID 5 on Ryzen 9000 only) and RAID 0/1/10 for SATA.

⚠️ M2A_CPU drops from PCIe 5.0 x4 to PCIe 4.0 x4 with Ryzen 8000 Phoenix 1, and M2B_CPU drops to PCIe 4.0 x2 with Ryzen 8000 Phoenix 2. Full Gen5 M.2 speeds require Ryzen 7000 or 9000.

⚠️ M2C_SB (chipset, PCIe 4.0 x2 at 32 Gb/s) is best suited to secondary NVMe storage rather than a primary high-performance drive.

⚠️ The two PCIe 3.0 x1 chipset slots share bandwidth with SATA ports 0 and 1. Installing a device in PCIEX1_1 or PCIEX1_2 disables SATA3_0/1 respectively.

Connectivity and I/O

Rear I/O mirrors the B850 Eagle Ice: one USB Type-C Gen1 (5 Gbps, CPU), two USB Gen2 Type-A (10 Gbps, red, chipset), two USB Gen1 Type-A (5 Gbps), and four USB 2.0 Type-A — nine rear ports total — alongside DisplayPort 1.4 (4K 144Hz), HDMI 2.1 (4K 60Hz), PS/2 keyboard/mouse combo port, and Q-Flash Plus button. Wi-Fi 7 (Realtek RTL8922AE, 802.11be, 2.4/5/6 GHz, 160 MHz) and Bluetooth 5.4 are onboard with dual SMA antenna connectors, alongside Realtek 2.5GbE LAN. Front panel connectivity includes a USB Type-C Gen1 header, a Gen1 header (2 ports), and two USB 2.0 headers (4 ports). ⚠️ Integrated display output (HDMI/DisplayPort) requires a Ryzen processor with integrated Radeon graphics. Non-G Ryzen 7000/9000 CPUs require a discrete GPU.
